What does an architectural visualization cost?

It depends on who makes it: a visualization studio per image and revision round, your firm with its own rendering pipeline, or you yourself in Vizera with credits. Here are the three routes side by side, how Vizera charges and three examples from everyday office work – with the prices from the price list.

6,500+ registered users in CH, DE and AT.Over 100,000 visualizations in the first year.

  • Google for Startups
  • NVIDIA Inception Program
Single-family house among farmhouses at the edge of a village – visualized, as a CAD massing and in larch and render.
New urban district with a round corner building from high above – visualized, as a CAD massing and at night.
Two houses on a steep slope above the valley – at blue hour, as a white model and on a summer morning.
Single-family house next to a timber barn in front of a vineyard – visualized, as a CAD massing and in spring.
U-shaped kitchen with peninsula and a window above the sink – visualized, as a white model and in a material variant.

Three routes. Three prices.

The same task – an image of the design for a meeting, competition or marketing – costs something different depending on the route. None of the three is always the right one.

Per image

Visualization studio

Several hundred to over a thousand francs per image, depending on the studio, level of detail and revision rounds; competition images, animations and city models considerably more. Plus briefing, coordination and one to three weeks – and an image whose camera, light and entourage are fine-tuned over days.

Per year and seat

In-house rendering pipeline

A license for Lumion, Enscape or V-Ray, a Windows computer with a graphics card, someone in the office who masters scene, materials and lighting – and the hours each variant takes. In return: exact geometry, animation and walkthroughs from the model. What the licenses cost is listed, with dates, on the comparison pages.

Per month, with credits

Vizera

Basic from EUR 129 per month on the annual plan with 4'000 credits, Pro from EUR 284 with 10'000 credits; an image costs 5 to 25 credits depending on model and resolution. No hardware, in the browser, minutes per version – from your 3D model, sketch or photo, depicted rather than physically calculated.

Prices for visualization studios are typical values from quotes in German-speaking countries, not figures from individual providers. Vizera prices excl. VAT, as of October 2026; in euros on vizera.de and vizera.at.

How Vizera charges.

Every plan includes credits per month; an image uses 5 to 25 of them, depending on model and resolution. That determines what an image costs you.

EUR 0 · 200 credits once

Free

For testing with your own project, not for client work: 200 credits once at sign-up, so 8 to 40 images depending on model and resolution. No credit card.

EUR 129 per month on the annual plan · 4'000 credits

Basic

160 to 800 images per month, depending on model and resolution – from EUR 0.16 per image. EUR 161 when paid monthly. For a firm that needs a few variants every week.

EUR 284 per month on the annual plan · 10'000 credits

Pro

400 to 2'000 images per month, depending on model and resolution. EUR 355 when paid monthly. For firms with several projects in parallel; Team with three or five users is on the pricing page.

Subscription credits reset monthly and are used first; purchased credit packs do not expire. Videos cost 300 to 400 credits. Prices excl. VAT, as of October 2026.

Three worked examples. From everyday office work.

What the same task costs in credits – calculated at 15 to 25 credits per high-resolution image on the Basic annual plan.

Competition

60 versions to the final perspective

Settling perspective, material and mood in 60 versions: 900 to 1'500 credits, so EUR 29 to EUR 48 on the Basic annual plan – about a third of the monthly allowance. You then commission the final image for the jury with an image instead of a description, or skip it for small competitions.

Facade renovation

Six variants, three views

Six color and render variants on a photo of the existing building, three views each: 18 images, 270 to 450 credits, so EUR 8.60 to EUR 15. At a visualization studio, each variant would be a quoted revision round – here the owners’ meeting decides on a board.

Real estate

Ten properties, four images a month

Ten properties with four images each per month – day, evening, two material versions: 40 images, 600 to 1'000 credits, so EUR 19 to EUR 32 a month. The Basic plan covers it with room to spare; the images remain visualizations, not a representation about the property.

Calculation: credits × EUR 0.03 (EUR 129 divided by 4'000 credits). At lower resolution, usage drops to 5 credits per image. Not included are your working time and any final image from a studio.

What the price depends on.

Three factors determine what a visualization costs – at a studio as in Vizera, just in different units.

Scope and level of detail

An exterior with surroundings, a furnished interior, an aerial city model: at a studio the price rises with modeling effort and entourage, in Vizera with resolution and model – 5 credits for a small image, 25 for 4K.

Revision rounds and variants

At a studio, two rounds are usually included and each further one costs extra; variants are charged per image. In Vizera, every version uses new credits – and Masking changes only the marked area, the rest stays.

Use and rights

Competition image, marketing campaign or meeting: at a studio, the use often determines the price. In Vizera, the images belong to you; for client projects you need a paid plan, Free is for non-commercial testing.

What the price does not include.

Three things an honest cost calculation has to mention.

The fine-tuned final image

For the one perspective whose camera, light and entourage are fine-tuned over days, a visualization studio remains the right choice. Vizera saves the rounds before it – not necessarily the image itself.

No plans, no dimensions

Vizera creates images for decisions, not plans, quantities or submission documents. Check what the image shows against the plan and the sample; for building permit applications and heritage protection, it remains an illustration.

Credits expire monthly

Subscription credits reset every month; if you don’t use them, you still pay for the plan. Purchased credit packs do not expire – better for peaks than the next plan up.
